Candidate For Ketchikan Gateway Borough Assembly 3 year term ( 2 seats open) Published: Monday
Background: I'm 47, single and have lived here since 1992. I am employed full time for the City of Ketchikan as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the Ketchikan Fire Department. I am also employed as a pilot for both Taquan Air and Pacific Airways.
Experience: President of the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 2761 and a member of the collective bargaining unit for the past three years.
Comment: I don't claim to have all the answers. However, it seems to me that there has been an air "of the old boy's club" with back door dealing and glad-handing. Let's take that, mix in with some arrogance, in the form of some assembly members thinking they know more that the citizens they represent, add a dash of " inability to take take responsibility" and a pinch of " blaming others" and we have a recipe, which is distasteful to the hard working taxpayers and citizens of this community who deserve better from their local government. I'm no gourmet chef, but I can cook better than that.
