 Carl C. Webb
Candidate for the Ketchikan School Board - Three Year Term

Hello.  My name is Carl Webb and I am a candidate for school board.  I was born in Anchorage and raised here in Alaska.

I am married to Amy and we have a daughter Megan, a first grader at Ketchikan Charter School.

I deliver commercial fuel for Petro Marine Services.

I was 2005 Ketchikan March of Dimes Co-chair and am an Advisory Board member for the Ktn Youth Detention Center.  I have also worked with Alaskans for Drug Free Youth.

I am an advocate for a group called Meeting The Challenge, started by S.A.D.A. (Substance Abuse Directors Association) and have attended the Alaska Legislature for the past 3 years with that advocacy group.  I promote funding programs for alcohol and drug abuse treatment centers.

I support the renewal of Superintendent Harry Martin's contract.

I will study both sides of all issues and will not be afraid to make a decision.  Many are not easy or pleasant, but it is part of the job.  I do not have all the answers, or even all the questions, but I promise to work hard for the students of Ketchikan.  I am not an elegant speaker, but I am forthright and will deal honestly with fellow board members, staff, students, and parents of Ketchikan.

I may not always agree with everyone, but I will always be willing to listen to all points of view.

I ask for your vote on October 4th.

Carl Webb
