Ketchikan, AK: Monday's high tide of 19' was captured in these photographs of the M/V Prince of Wales by Carl Thompson. Thompson's trivia question: When the tide is high here in Ketchikan, where did the water come from and where does it go? It has to be low somewhere if it is high here. Any idea? Clue: The answer backwards: eniam, troptsae. When the tide is high here, it is about a half hour from being low tide in eniam, troptsae.
