Ketchikan, Alaska - The 301'8" Tatoosh was photographed Monday anchored in the Tongass Narrows. The superyacht, ranked the third-largest in the United States in 2002 and 12th-largest in the world in 2003, belongs to Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, who bought it from another Seattle tycoon, McCaw Cellular cofounder Craig McCaw. According to Power and Motor Yacht magazine, Allen has kept the yacht busy, sending her to destinations ranging from the Galapagos to New Zealand to Palau - and now Ketchikan.
It's possible the Tatoosh may be ranked 2nd largest in the United States for 2003 now that Le Grand Bleu which was ranked the 1st largest in the country in 2002 is currently owned by a Russian tycoon. According to Power and Motor Yacht magazine, John McCaw the brother of Craig McCaw, was the former owner of Le Grand Bleu.
