Middle Class Screwed Again

(SitNews) - How would you like a free refund of your last three years' of taxes? A promise that you won't have to pay any possible back taxes or penalty? Would you have any objection if the IRS chooses not to ask for income verification?

No problem! But there's only one catch.

You must be living here illegally. Citizens need not apply.

IRS Commissioner Ira Koskinen recently confirmed this benefit of President Obama's executive amnesty to Republican Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa. This means once President Obama signs off on social security numbers for illegal immigrants, they can claim three years of back taxes on income they may have never actually earned or reported.

Yes, you too may fill your pockets with money from working Americans who actually paid taxes even if you never filed a return or if you worked "under the table."

But only if you're here illegally.

This is just another way President Obama's policies crush the middle class and violate his oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution.

Jan Ting, Temple University law professor, testified before the Senate in December and the House just last month, articulating the constitutional and moral case against Obama's amnesty, irrefutable by any honest mind:

"The Supreme Court is the ultimate judge of how the Constitution divides the power of government between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution empowers Congress "to establish an Uniform Rule of Naturalization." Concerning Article I, Section 8 and U.S. immigration policy, the Court has held that: "Congress has plenary power to make rules for the admission of aliens and to exclude those who possess those characteristics which Congress has forbidden."

According to Ting, the exclusive authority of Congress to formulate immigration policy "has become about as firmly embedded in the legislative and judicial tissue of our body politic as any aspect of our government."

Congress has not given authority over to the President, so he is violating the Constitution.

Ting also notes that "legalizing" 5 million illegal immigrants will take away jobs from the estimated 9 million legal American citizens seeking work.

"How does the addition of 5 million illegal immigrant workers to the American labor market affect the future prospects for the 46 million Americans, almost one in six, who are receiving food stamps?," Ting asks "And how will giving 5 million illegal immigrants work authorization affect the groups with the highest unemployment rates?"

So not only is President Obama's executive amnesty a violation of the Constitution, his actions seriously threaten middle class and lower middle class jobs.

Ting concluded rather early in his testimonies, "If we wish to deter persons immigrating to the U.S. illegally in violation of our legally imposed limits, we should increase the costs of illegal immigration and lower the benefits."

One more salient point:

Ting served as Assistant Commissioner at the Immigration and Naturalization Service of the U.S. Department of Justice.
