Tongass Service Area Receives New ISO Rating - According
to information provided by KGB Manager Roy Eckert, the Ketchikan
Gateway Borough recently received the results of a Public Protection
Classification survey conducted by the Insurance Services Office
(ISO) in September 2003. Eckert noted that a February 27, 2004,
letter to Borough Mayor Mike Salazar, ISO reported that the South
Tongass Service Area improved from the previous Class 9 rating

Comment Period Extended 30 Days For Kensington DSEIS - The
Tongass Forest Supervisor, Forrest Cole, has decided to extend
the public comment period on the Kensington Gold Draft Supplemental
Environmental Impact Statement, or DSEIS, until April 7, 2004.
This additional 30 days for public comment will enable cooperating
and reviewing agencies as well as the public additional time
